That’s why, as Attentive’s Senior DEIB Business Partner, I’m leading the charge as we continue to build programs that ensure all employees have access to the information and development resources they need to succeed, and foster an inclusive culture. Simply put—DEIB isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s a strategic advantage.
Why DEIB is key
At Attentive, DEIB isn’t just a buzzword (even though, yes, I’ve already used it five times in this article)– it’s a summary of processes we implement to ensure we hire the best people, build amazing products, and provide top-tier service to the world’s leading brands. With over 8,000 customers spanning diverse industries and demographics, our team must draw from the talents of the customers and community we serve. By embracing a diversity of thought, experience, and perspective, we create solutions that are more innovative and impactful.

How we embed DEIB at every stage
From hiring to onboarding, employee resource groups (ERGs), and promotions, we apply a DEIB lens to ensure fairness and opportunity is at the heart of every process. Some key ways we reinforce DEIB include:
- Hiring and onboarding: Design inclusive hiring processes that welcome varied perspectives and ensure all candidates can thrive from the start.
- Employee Resource Groups (ERGs): We support community resource groups open to all employees, that are aimed at fostering connection and advocacy, and ensuring that all employees have access and support to succeed. .
- Equitable promotions and career growth: We support equitable advancement, so all employees can thrive.
- Inclusive culture: We create an environment where everyone can show up as their full selves, whether that means taking time off to care for family, celebrating cultural milestones, or advocating for change. We’re proud of the inclusive community we’ve created and have even been recognized for it!
Supporting our diverse customers
Many of the brands we support—such as Momofuku, Our Place, and Cécred—are founded by minority business owners and are deeply rooted in inclusivity. These companies have carved out space for customers who are often overlooked, and we take pride in helping them grow. To serve them effectively, we must understand their needs– and that requires a team with a variety of perspectives, backgrounds and experiences.
